Water Wheel (By Samantha Davis)

We were too busy
Too lazy to accept the truth
The gravity grasped at our legs
But we floated on up, oblivious to you

We were too stubborn
Too selfish to reveal ourselves out loud
The truth tapped on our shoulders
But we refused to turn around…

We were too haunted
Too afraid to let go of something
The fear fed us nothing
But we wanted everything

We were too lost
Too tortured to bear life alone
The question begged for an answer
But we left it there, unknown.
